  • Ocean trips for salmon and rockfish are generally full days, returning about 3:30 p.m.

    Half days are mostly spent in the bay for striped bass, halibut, sharks, and sturgeon, returning at noon.

    Departure times may vary depending on the time of year and tides. Most trips depart at 6:00 a.m. Times may be flexible if chartering the whole boat.

  • We specialize in working with first-timers and less experienced anglers. You’ll receive personal instruction throughout the day and don’t even have to touch the bait. Our goal is to teach anglers how to fish so that by the end of the day, you feel confident in your ability to handle the gear.

  • Yes, we will fillet or gut your catch. We provide bags for your processed fish. It’s recommended you keep the fillets or whole fish on ice for the ride home.

  • Check the “Fishing” page for a general look at seasons.

  • It’s very rare to get sick in the bay, but the ocean is a different animal. If going in the ocean, we recommend you take a seasick remedy before departing the Wharf.

  • Temps throughout most of the year start in the mid to low 50’s and maybe climb to the mid 60’s. Mornings can be foggy and chilly. Shorts and flip-flops are not recommended.

  • Yes, there’s plenty of room for a small to mid-size ice chest. Please do not bring empty ice chests aboard.

  • No, your fare pays for everything needed for fishing. Your only costs are parking and voluntary tipping the deckhand.

  • Yes, parking is located about two short blocks from the boat at the Anchorage Square Garage. There is a code provided by the captain to receive a discounted price on weekends.

    Weekday anglers can use the Fisherman’s Parking Lot located at 450 Beach St. Price is less than $15.

  • Restaurant policy on cooking catch from boats changes by the day because of Covid. Capurro’s and Supreme Crab have been the most reliable.

  • Since Covid, no one will ship fish. Our recommendation is to freeze your catch, and carry it on the plane with a soft cooler or in your luggage.

  • The deckhand works hard to help our anglers enjoy a fun and successful outing. He will clean your fish and dish advice. Tipping is not required, but is appreciated.

  • There is a no-smoking policy aboard the Argo.
